1. About Us

This website is operated by First Transport UK Ltd, trading as Express Cars, a licensed London Private Hire Vehicle operator authorised by Transport for London (“TfL”).

For these Terms and Conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to First Transport UK Ltd, trading as Express Cars, the licensed London Private Hire Vehicle operator. “You” and “your” refer to the passenger or person making a booking with us.

2. Formation of the Booking Contract

When we accept a booking from you, a contract is formed between you and First Transport UK Ltd for the provision of the transportation services covered by that booking.

As the licensed London Private Hire Vehicle operator, First Transport UK Ltd is responsible for accepting the booking and for providing the transportation services to the passenger in accordance with applicable law, regulations and TfL licensing requirements.


3. Operator Responsibility for Transportation Services

Following acceptance of a booking, First Transport UK Ltd is responsible for providing the booked journey and transportation services to the passenger.

Where the journey is carried out by a driver on our behalf, the driver provides the transportation service as part of the booking accepted by First Transport UK Ltd.

First Transport UK Ltd remains responsible and liable in relation to the transportation services provided under the booking, subject to applicable law and regulatory requirements.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, transfer or limit any responsibility or liability that First Transport UK Ltd is required to have as a licensed London Private Hire Vehicle operator.


4. Drivers and Private Hire Vehicles

We may arrange for a suitably licensed and authorised driver to carry out a booked journey on our behalf.

The vehicle and driver used for a booking will be subject to the applicable private hire licensing, safety and legal requirements.

The driver carries out the journey as part of the transportation services for which First Transport UK Ltd accepted the booking.


5. Fares and Payment

The fare for the journey will be confirmed through the applicable booking process or otherwise communicated to the passenger in connection with the booking.

Payment may be collected directly by First Transport UK Ltd or, where applicable, by the driver on behalf of First Transport UK Ltd.

Where a driver collects a fare from a passenger, the driver does so as an agent of First Transport UK Ltd for the purpose of collecting payment for the transportation services.

Any fare collected by the driver on our behalf is treated as payment to First Transport UK Ltd for the transportation services provided under the booking.


6. Making a Booking

Passengers must provide accurate and complete information when making a booking, including the passenger’s name, contact details, pick-up location, destination, requested date and time, passenger numbers and any other information reasonably required to provide the transportation service.

The passenger is responsible for ensuring that the information supplied is accurate.

We may contact the passenger using the contact details provided in connection with the booking.


7. Booking Confirmation

A booking is subject to acceptance by First Transport UK Ltd.

Once we accept the booking, the booking contract described in these Terms and Conditions applies between First Transport UK Ltd and the passenger.

We may contact the passenger to confirm or clarify booking details where reasonably necessary to provide the transportation service.


8. Changes and Cancellations

Bookings may be amended or cancelled in accordance with the cancellation and amendment terms applicable to the booking.

Any applicable cancellation or amendment charges will be communicated through the booking process or made available to the passenger before or at the time of booking, where applicable.


9. Passenger Responsibilities

Passengers must:

• provide accurate booking information;

• be available at the agreed pick-up location at the agreed time;

• behave reasonably and respectfully towards the driver;

• follow reasonable safety instructions;

• not intentionally damage or misuse the vehicle; and

• comply with applicable laws and safety requirements.

We may take appropriate action where a passenger’s conduct creates a safety risk or makes it unreasonable to provide the transportation service, subject to applicable law.


10. Accessibility and Equality

We are committed to providing our transportation services in accordance with applicable equality and accessibility legislation.

First Transport UK Ltd will comply with the legal obligations applicable to licensed London Private Hire Vehicle operators, including relevant requirements under the Equality Act 2010.

Passengers who require assistance or have specific accessibility requirements should provide relevant information when making a booking so that appropriate arrangements can be considered.


11. Lost Property

If a passenger believes that an item has been left in a vehicle following a journey, they should contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide details of the item and booking.

We will take reasonable steps to assist with the recovery and return of lost property, subject to applicable law and our procedures.


12. Delays and Circumstances Beyond Our Control

We will take reasonable steps to provide the transportation services in accordance with an accepted booking.

Journey times or service availability may be affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including traffic congestion, road closures, accidents, adverse weather, emergency situations, police activity or other unforeseen events.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.


13. Liability

First Transport UK Ltd is responsible for the transportation services provided under bookings that it accepts, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to remove, transfer or avoid any responsibility imposed on First Transport UK Ltd by the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998, the Private Hire Vehicles (London) (Operators’ Licences) Regulations 2000, applicable TfL licensing requirements, the Equality Act 2010 or any other applicable legislation.


14. Complaints

If a passenger has a complaint concerning a booking or transportation service, they should contact First Transport UK Ltd using the contact details provided below.

We will review and respond to complaints in accordance with our procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.


15. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Personal information may be processed for the purposes of managing bookings, providing transportation services, processing payments, communicating with passengers and complying with legal and regulatory obligations.


16. Website Use

You agree to use this website lawfully and not to misuse, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its systems.

17. Compliance with Applicable Law
